How to Choose the Right Diffuser for Every Room

A diffuser that is perfect on a bedside table can get lost in a big living room, and one set up for an open-plan space can feel like too much in a small study. Matching the setting and the type of oil to the room is what makes scent feel natural rather than heavy. This guide walks through each space in your home.

Which diffuser setting suits each room?

• Bedside, desk or car (up to about 5 square meters): the low or intermittent setting is enough, with either essential oil or fragrance oil.
• Bedroom, study or private office (about 10 to 15 square meters): low to medium. Choose fragrance oil if you want the scent to hold longer (see aromatherapy for the workspace).
• Living room, home office or small shop (about 15 to 30 square meters): medium day to day, high before guests arrive, mainly with fragrance oil.
• Large living room, duplex or commercial space (about 30 square meters and up): fragrance oil on high continuous, and more than one unit for very large open plans.

How much coverage does each room need?

Bigger rooms need more than a higher setting; they also need an oil that holds. Pure essential oils spread fast and fade fast, so they shine in small and mid-sized rooms. Fragrance oils last longer in the air and suit larger spaces. The measured maximum for the Zhithera D1 is about 380 square meters, running high continuous with fragrance oil, and real coverage always depends on ceiling height, ventilation, partitions and open windows. What to Look For

Essential oil or fragrance oil for a living room?

Mostly fragrance oil. Essential oils fade quickly in a larger space; fragrance oils hold longer and stay consistent from bottle to bottle. Essential oils are the better match for close-range spaces like a bedroom, desk or car.

Can one diffuser move between rooms?

Yes. Both models are rechargeable, so you can carry one from the office to the bedroom. Swapping the cartridge is the cleanest way to change scent when you move it.

Which setting should I use most of the time?

Low. It is the economical everyday setting: on the D1, a full cartridge lasts about two days on low, while high continuous is meant for filling a room quickly rather than running all day.
